Second part of the photographic project on my illness. Achalasia (from the Greek lack of relaxation), not to be confused with calasia, is the most common primary motor pathology of the esophagus. The disease is characterized by the progressive loss of esophageal peristalsis and the inability to relax the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), located on the border between the esophagus and stomach.
Seconda parte del progetto fotografico sulla mia malattia. L'acalasia (dal greco mancato rilasciamento), da non confondere con la calasia, è la più comune patologia motoria primitiva dell'esofago. La malattia è caratterizzata dalla perdita progressiva della peristalsi esofagea e dalla incapacità di rilasciamento dello Sfintere esofageo inferiore (LES), posto al confine tra esofago e stomaco.
